Happenstance played played spirited, traditional folk songs from the British Isles in the Port Townsend area for seven years. Sadly, it disbanded in 2021, due to Covid constraints.

We had some changes in the band over the years, but it was always fun.
I'd like to express my appreciation to all the band members for such a great time together.

In 2021 we produced a couple of "COVID" music videos - with us all socially distanced.

Praise for Happenstance
What a wonderful evening of traditional and genuine Irish song!  The audience of over 90 were captivated by your descriptions of the British Isles and the fascinating history of the conflict between the principle countries.  Your descriptions of the realities of that era coupled with the melodies that sung gave the audience a clear picture of the strife that was a way of life and song during that troubled period.  The audience was attentive, involved and enjoyed participating with the choruses throughout the evening!
The talented musical performance by Abe, Cherry, Jack and yourself displayed by soothing skills of harmony provided beautiful music throughout the evening.  The instrumentation skills of the group added even more authenticity to the regional music of Ireland.
Dan Purnell - Candlelight Concert - Trinity United Methodist Church

“Happenstance played their wonderful Irish music at our party and truly made it something special. People are still telling me how much they enjoyed the music and the evening. If you’re looking for a wonderful band to make your event memorable, Happenstance is it!”
 Andi O'Conor

"Happenstance!  This band is not your average deaf-granny’s favorite Guinness-fueled group of parlor pluckers. They’ll get you moving with wonderful songs, musicianship, and vocals.  Go see them!"
Mike James

"As an Irish/British folk and pub music fan, I've caught this band a few times now and have never been disappointed.  Their harmonies are spot on, and their stage energy is  infectious. Erin go braugh!"
